Tilda Cabbage Rose
One of the very first fabrics I ever used was Tilda Rosalie, a beautiful pink floral that I must of made over 100 little Boo Pinnys in! So I have always been quite fond of Tilda fabrics, but the latest ranges Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane really made me fall head over heels in love!
You know when you see a fabric and you know instantly which pattern you want to use? For me it was The Georgia Vintage Dress. I've never used the pattern before, but like most sewists, we have 1000 patterns in the "want to try pile" and end up using only 10 of them regularly. I stepped outside my comfort zone for this one, and instead of using just one fabric, I went a little crazy and used not two, but 3 different prints!
After deciding on these 3 prints (from the Cabbage Rose range), I went to work cutting. I decided to make my own piping with the pink and lined the bodice in the same fabric to tie it in a little more.
I used the cream for the collar, sash and big bow on the back, and green for the main fabric in the dress. Aren't these the sweetest little buttons - already covered and they were just perfect for this dress!
Here's a few pics of the dress in action on my little girl, Ellie.
Hope you like the dress!
