The Amsterdam Dress
Gosh Little Lizard King patterns have been blowing me out of the water this year. The fresh new styles and pretty feminine designs are just so gorgeous and a perfect fit for Ellies Handmade!
This week I have been part of the testing team for the Amsterdam dress (which comes in maxi, dress and top lengths) and its simply gorgeous. Its got a beautiful little fitted bodice, dainty little straps that tie in a lovely bow and the shape on the back that just really is such a feature without being too revealing!
I made the maxi version first, and used a light blue floral from the upcoming Princess Rose collection by Lecien Fabrics, I loved the end result for this one! Here are some pics of the maxi
Ellie loved it too, i loved how she picked up the skirt as she was running around, she looked so sweet. Shes 5 now ( I don't know where the time has gone really) and while i love taking pics of her in dresses I've made over the years, she not always willing to pose. This time though, she did seem to channel her inner diva and blew me a kiss... I must admit I love this pic. Her sweet little watch from Marlee and Co was a gift this year as shes learning to tell the time, we aren't quite there yet but shes almost got the hang of quarter past and half past.
I also made the Amsterdam dress in a gorgeous summer floral in knee length which i totally adore, this time I opted for a gorgeous floral from Clothworks.
For my sewing friends i hope you have fun sewing this pattern up, its truly a gorgeous one, I certainly can see many being made for Ellies Handmade!
