Pattern Review - SLPco Piper Flounce Dress

Posted by Ellies Handmade on

I must confess, I am a pattern hoarder! Over the last 8 years I have bought so many patterns that most likely in my lifetime, I will never sew all of them! But its tough to resist those beautiful releases from your favourite pattern companies, and before you know it, another pattern is added to your online library! When the Simple Life Pattern Co Piper Dress released, with its beautiful triple flounced bodice, elastic waist and gorgeous skirt options, I naturally bought it with good intentions to make it. I wont tell you how long ago that was... but... I have sewn it finally and what a stunning sew!

I used a lovely lightweight voile from Spotlight which was a wonderful choice for this design, as it allowed the flounces to sit beautifully, and was soft and breathable to wear.

I chose to omit one of the flounces, and make the dress with two only of them. Isn't the back lovely? SLPco have many designs with beautiful backs, and this one is no exception. A small piece of elastic draws the scoop in and gives it a lovely fitted look, while still extremely easy to put on and off Ellie.

Happy Sewing!
