La Conner and Princess Rose
Its always this time of year that I start to look forward to all the new fabric ranges coming out, in USA the Spring Quilt Market sees the launch of all the pretty florals that I adore, and I was stoked to get a pretty parcel from Lecien Fabrics in the post a few weeks, filled with gorgeous fabrics from the Princess Rose 2017 collection and a new range from Quilting in the Rain, La Conner.
Lecien's Princess Rose Collection is guaranteed to bring soft pastels and the prettiest of florals, and never disappoints. Its hard to pick a favourite, but for me its between the blue medium sized floral, and the pink! The large flowers also make up so beautifully, I can see so many beautiful dresses ahead in this range.
Here is a dress I made Ellie, I decided to make her a pretty hi low dress with a nice ruffle, and an open back, something summery and pretty so that I could pretend we aren't headed into winter here in Sydney (yuk, today is 16 degrees Celsius). Here are some pics.
I also used the delightful blue in an Amsterdam maxi dress (pattern by Little Lizard King - looooove this pattern). And in the pink I made a Penelope dress (pattern by Violette Field Threads)
Now to Jera Brandvigs beautiful La Conner range - it was hard decide which of the gorgeous fabrics to use first, I was so drawn to the aqua tones in this range, and they have the sweetest little gold flecks that give the fabric that extra something special. I made the Tea Party dress first, (pattern by Tadah Sewing Patterns) and added a pleated hem and bodice detail. Aren't the little strawberries on this print delightful?!
I also kept on in the aqua theme and made an Amsterdam Dress in strawberries too!
Jera has such a beautiful blog, shes an extremely talented quilter, completely in awe of her! Here is the link if you would like to have a read! http://quiltingintherain.com/
